I'm resolved...

I'm taking the car to the dealership tomorrow for an oil change, to find out why the a/c is leaking in the back passenger floorboard, and look for a slow leak in one of my tires. My car is just now at 30,000 miles and will be paid off in a few months. I am resolved that I will not buy either of the three convertibles in my price range that are at the dealership right now. I won't do it. I won't. I won't. I won't. I won't even look at them. I wonder if the dealership will take me home so I can wait at home while they work on my car - they said they would.

Yeah, that's why you were texting me telling me how tempted you were to walk over and look at the black, non-clothed but leather seats mustang.

I say depending on what the deal is with the leak, either pay it off and be debt free or if the leak is worse then I would get a new car..

Look, see what happens when you become a mom, you become your mom lol

30,000 miles and you're having those issues? You suck at picking out cars. Bring a (better informed) friend next time.

Sincerely,

USUC

She needs to take my husband with her or bring it to my husband since he is a mechanic and her son in law.

I think this is the 3rd time since she has had the car that it's leaked like that in the back.

No. The guy that could take out the carpet and see where the water was getting into the back floorboard wasn't on duty that day. I have to make an appointment, take the car in and leave it until whenever. I don't like that. It is why I pay for a new car so I can just take my car in for oil changes and cabin filter changes and such, in and out in less than an hour and they do it while I wait. I don't like dealing with car problems and worrying if my car is going to break down while I'm out in the middle of nowhere, which I'm apt to be on occasion. So, I'll probably go ahead and buy a new car now. It won't be one of those used convertibles since they are used. Only thing I hate more than car problems is car shopping. I see one that is pretty and it feels nice when I get in it so I buy the blasted thing. Maybe I could retire to a town with a great bus and train system and just forget about owning a stupid car. Just rent one appropriate for the occasion when I need one.

I love car shopping. It's how I got my new Yukon XL. Well it was new 2 years ago :D What a great ride.

I guess I should mention that the water in the back floorboard only happens when we take a really long drive - like on an all day road trip. I don't drive like that every day. Most days I barely drive 15 miles all total - to work, to the pool, back to work, to some function after work, then home again.

I have seen vehicles with short frequent trips have just as many if not more problems than a car that is driven all the time with long trips.
Either way, cars need to be maintained. It isn't bad to have to leave a vehicle at a shop, ask for a rental car!

I love all the weird car parts, and figuring out how to do it myself. Of course then we start talking about tools. Any excuse for me to buy a new tool is a good excuse.
