Is the Amazon Prime Service worth renewing?

I let it expire and have a different cc I'm using. They want 20 bucks more (99) for it. The only thing Ive mostly used it for is free shipping on items, although I have a half dozen movies on their cloud thingie.

I'm on the fence, so any input will help.

Thanks

I thought I had ordered a lot more from it, but it says if I just used the service for shipping breaks I wasn't saving that much.

Yeah then there's that. I hate waiting for stuff too.

Plus I have Life of Pi, both Hobbit's and Karate Kid 2 in that cloud storage thing, and you lose that if you stop the service.

Yes that's right....Karate Kid 2 ;) The one with Will Smith's kid in it.

Keep the Prime. Stop using other people's cloud storage for movies, you can purchase the movie for less and have a hard copy of it in your possession.
If you are like Eggs and Me and use it for a lot of things you cant' get locally it's worth the expedited shipping and other perks. I think they have a more liberal return policy too. JMO

LOL the cloud comes with prime, and when you buy a movie through them thats where it uploads. I don't know how to get it off the cloud and onto say a DVD.

But you guys are right, and thanks for the input.

Well I'm sure there's a way some super geek knows to do that. I've seen people get stuff of their DVR which I was told can't be done. I just don't know how to do it.

I think part of why I can use Prime like a delivery boy service is because I'm in a major city, where Amazon has hundreds of network agreements with vendors and couriers. It doesn't cost much for me to get something same day, even. Whereas someone in a rural or sparsely populated area might not have the same level of convenience available to them.

Yeah and then tonight I looked at video Prime, and I felt like it was a good deal.

It's comparable to Netflix in that a lot of better titles still cost money to rent on Prime, and that translates into titles that are only available on DVD from Netflix. (I have a stream-only plan with Netflix so I strike out with a lot of title searches there)

I'm still trying to figure out how to extract the video from the cloud into the ps3, surprisingly there's nothing from amazon about it in their voluminous help section. They seem to have the streaming only option down pat, although I can dl it to my kindle.

Gotta get the fox in the henhouse somehow ;)
