It Is Forbidden...

Friday

Bazinga!
They made a big deal out of the fact that Superman is forbidden to interfere with human history in the first Superman movie. However, there were no consequences to speak of, when he did so.

So what's to stop Superman from changing history at his whim?

^^Yup, that's pretty much it. The reason I really liked Smallville (before it got ridiculously repetitive) is because it explores that relationship in-depth. When you have a character who is essentially a god, how do you make sure he doesn't abuse his powers? The coolest thing about Superman, at least the Johny Byrne and later Superman, is that he's a Super man. He truly thinks of himself as Clark Kent, wherease Batman thinks of Bruce Wayne as the "secret identity".
