Donovan
beer, I want beer
So I'm out with my ladyfriend at a Joe Brucato concert last weekend, sponsored by the radio station I listen to in town. It was a great concert, 4 solid hours for free and we had dinner besides. Outside, intimate venue. Nola's BBQ. There were about 400 people there all told, but we came early and got AWESOME seats front and center. When we arrived I was asking this guy sitting on the side of the stsage when he thought the band would start playing, thought he was a roadie but turned out he was the drummer and he kept coming over and jawing with us whenever there was a break. Cool guy, has a wife pregnant and due any day.
But cooler than that--when we showed up, I was talking to my lady friend about Susan Tedeschi, who is coming next week at $30 a pop. Both our favorite stations, blues and jazz in Rochester, have been hyping the concert but we couldn't afford the tickets this week. So I says to her, "No sweat, I filled out the giveaway form so it's a lock, they'll give me free ones."
Damned if the first name outta the box ain't mine!!! So now I'm going to Susan frigging Tedeschi next week, gratis! My girl thinks I am psychic or something.
Man I love when the breaks go my way...
