And what's classic about Ken is that he's ultimately going to be miserable in that job, so he'll be screwed yet again down the road, lol.
But hey, #whitepeoplesproblems
So did Meredith take some smart pills during the break? She's not a complete twit anymore. I'm thinking maybe she and Don hooked up at one point, and now she's over his BS. But it doesn't explain how she somehow became good at her job.
I felt like Joan & Peggy's scene with the McCann apes was anachronistic. Joan has dealt with jerks like that before, quite deftly, and without violence. I know that Matt Weiner was showing us how unfulfilled everyone feels at the moment ("Is That All There Is?"), but I'm dubious of the way he fleshed it out with Joan. I think a better scene was when she admitted to Don that she didn't know how to resolve Topaz, and he was like, duh, McCann has Marshall Fields, call them up. She doesn't hate Don anymore (I didn't believe that last season either), but she came face to face with the fact that she still has a lot to learn about the position she obtained, and Don on his worst day is still better than her running on all cylinders.
9 months have passed in MM time since the previous episode. Is that even enough time for Roger and Ted to grow nosemops like those? Yeesh. The costuming on the show is still impeccable, but hair and makeup is starting to run amok. I believe that Stan has become Grizzly Adams, but not so much with Roger/Ted. I guess they are both grasping for some youth (Ted never cared about Vogue models before), but I think Ted's stache is kind of arbitrary. He already has a young face.
I miss Bert.
