Essential "Handbook of the Marvel Universe"?? WTF???
 
LOL. Pretty desperate there! They've done no fewer than five versions of the Marvel Universe by my memory (they are some of the only comics I still own).

1983,83,89,92-94(I think) and the recent character books. Surely most of what will go into these books will be vastly out of date, considering it is 'biographical' in nature?
 
Yup, it is out of date. The most screwed-up thing is this: Marvel will publish a VOLUME TWO of this book, which is the "DELUXE" Edition of the Handbook. Remember the Handbook was UPDATED like three or four years after it came out. So they're publishing an extremely out-of-date version and one that's slightly less out-of-date.
 
True (Disturbing) story: When the first Handbook came out, me & my friends were in 7th or 8th grade, I think. We had a friend, Michael "Cav" Cavalieri who would trace the pictures of the female heros and villains, and draw them nude.

I assume he's some sort of sex offender these days.
 
OMG! I did that, too!

The Marvel Universe handbooks still inspire me today! But, yeah, an ESSENTIAL for material that's that old and outdated... Why?
