I am late with this news, I know, but I just this minute found out. This really toally sucks beyond the telling of it.
I like many others hoped that Michael Piller would be an important force in any new Star Trek project but that can't happen anymore.
Michael Piller was one of the best things that happened to modern Trek, without a doubt and his influence and writing and producing ability will be sorely missed.
He leaves behind a legacy that encompasses everything that was good about modern Trek and to lose him at 57 is a kick in the face.
R.I.P Michael Piller, and thank you.
