MP3 editing software?

I got the sothink .swf decompiler, and extracted an .mp3 from a flash animation. Now I want to extract .wav clips from the .mp3. Software suggestions?

You could try converting it to .wav, then using any old editor to chop it up. Is that what you mean?

Yeah, I'm just not sure where to find a freeware .mp3 to .wav converter, and my thoughts on chopping only went so far as old-school soundrec.exe choppage, but XP doesn't seem to have soundrec.exe.

I have something which weighs 26 megabytes, which I can transfer via FTP.

It's freeware, of course.
