My new convertible

I'm going to look at my new convertible tomorrow at 1. If I go ahead and buy it I'll post pictures. But, no, you can't drive it or go for a ride.

It's a used car. Its been a long time since I've bought a used car. Unless that convertible is not what was promised, though, I'll probably buy it. I've been jonesing for a convertible for years.

After that, I'm going to go buy a new house with a fireplace and a garage.

Not sure yet. Still trying to decide how far out of my comfort zone I can move.
I want a garage and a fireplace. Trying to decide if I can give up my mini-forest and be happy with a small yard or just a balcony.
Then, do I want to live near my friends or stay in my current stomping grounds.
Not sure I can tolerate an HOA. Seems like HOAs are controlling everything these days.
I want to live near a theater and places I can walk to.
I can be noisy so have to take that into consideration too.
Mostly just have to start looking at places in person.

You guys don't have zoning down there? At least that's how it is in Austin. I don't quite know where you are and that's a big state.....

Sure. We have zoning. However, homeowners' associations are very popular. They are useful in some ways. I'm just not somebody who needs one more group of people to boss me around or have a need to tell other people what they can do on their property.

In townhomes, the hoa takes care of the grounds, exterior walls, pools, sprinkler systems, hot tubs, parking, and often water and sewer. If those groups didn't include in their purpose dictating to residents above and beyond legal behavior, they'd be great. Too often, though, they want to dictate what kind of vehicle is parked in your driveway, how many and what types of trees, and all kinds of things in excess of covenants that run with the land.

It's even more stringent up here. You need a permit for just about anything it seems.

no, Vap rents his house from a landlord (I even know her name).

no bank in their right mind would give an unemployable schizo batshit dwarf a mortgage. thats the kind of reckless lending that caused the financial crisis

I don't think Vap has moved. He would have posted about it all over here.

on the other hand I think his wife has kicked him out, so he could be in a homeless shelter or sleeping in his taxi

Odd Sock, please refrain from posting your "Jack Hate" crap in my happy threads.

I am asking nicely this time.

Didn't work out on the convertible. My Saturn is paid for, only 52000 miles, in near pristine condition. I bought it brand new and have kept up the maintenance on it. The only thing wrong with it is it isn't a convertible and I really want a convertible. Not motivated to trade it for anything less than what I want.

The top on the convertible wouldn't go all the way down and then wouldn't close properly. I know it is used but why else would I want a 350z convertible if the convertible part was removed from the equation? So, didn't buy it. Dealer still looking for me.

Oh yeah. Put new tires on it a few months ago. Put new tire monitors on it last month. Get regular oil changes and suggested maintenance. Car is awesome. Will do the 60k maintenance around the end of the year if I don't trade it in first.

:D that's very cool. A friend of mine has a red suv type one that he's owned forever and just loves.
