I just finished watching a full episode of SNL. Why? Natalie Portman was hosting and I've been a fan of hers for over 7 years now. I had to check it out. I've only seen 3 full shows between 1992 and 2006.

Tonight's show wasn't laff-out-loud funny, but it was nice to see Natalie in a comedic setting whether it was answering questions posed by Star Wars geeks or doing a rap video with bleeped out swearing.

Anyone else catch the show with Natalie?

She doesn't still look like a Borg, does she?

I saw it and I enjoyed it too. Like you said it was nice to see her in a comedic setting. The rap video was the funniest but as SW geek the Q&A really made me laugh out loud.

When did she ever look like a borg?

There was a skit where she played a woman who wanted to be a man, and the wig and heavy eyebrows they put on her made her look like a Vulcan. And her attempt to do a serious male voice just added to that.

She reminded me of T'Pol.

Will Forte as GWB wasn't at his best tonight (his best were his Tsunami and China conferences), but he's still pretty fun.

Even though I'm not a fan of hers, Natalie Portman was funny with her Star Wars trivia, very cool how she set the record straight about the Sifo-Dyas, Tyrannus, Dooku, Grevious connections.

The baby toupes was a repeat and was just OK the first time, Jamba Juice was weird enough to be great, The Needlers are always fun, but Larry King, the 'Smigeltoons', and Keenan Thompson's Big Plans seemed like they had potential but took the lazy approach.

That would get me so hard.

I started taping it, but after the first half hour sucked donkey lungs I stopped and moved on. She was OK but the sketches were piss poor.

The nerds asking questions during the monologue were expected but funny.

Not to post on topic, but have you notice that the SNL "monologue" is anything but these days? Sheesh, I mean, "mono" implies one person talking. Every fucking week it's the same old shtick from those assholes.

Not that I've watched SNL in ages anyway, but with this glowing review I doubt I ever will again.

I've never watched it for more than 60 seconds.

SOOOOO it turns out I've watched a lot of SNL lately. Guess I'm not as stuck up and jaded as this previous post would have you believe.

Sometimes I think people should have gone the route of group intro because they aren't that funny.
But I give kudos to anyone who gets up there on stage!
Almost anyone.
