NBA Summer league 2024: How to watch, schedule, rosters, news
The NBA summer league tips off 30 teams convening for the annual showcase held July 12-22 in Las Vegas. Several teams began play earlier in the California Classic Summer League (July 6-10 in San Francisco and Sacramento) and the Salt Lake City Summer League (July 8-10). In Las Vegas, each team will play four games from July 12 to 19. The top four teams will then advance to the playoffs. There will be two semifinal games on July 21 and the championship game on July 22. The other 26 teams will play a fifth game on either July 20 or July 21.

Ranking the Top 30 NBA Summer League Prospects to watch
The young players set to take over Las Vegas now (and perhaps the league at large later) have little more than potential to offer at this point, but potential is all that's needed to make this one of the most enjoyable events of the summer.

No.1: Alex Sarr, Washington (No.2 in 2024)
Alex Sarr might have wound up No. 2 in the draft, but he snags the No. 1 spot here.
No.2: Ron Holland II, Detroit Pistons (No.5 in 2024)
It's possible the Pistons scored the night's biggest steal with the selection, too, as the athletic swingman was once regarded as the top prospect in the class.
No.3: Brandon Miller, Charlotte Hornets (No.2 in 2023)
Brandon Miller took bronze in this past season's Rookie of the Year voting. Hopefully, he has everyone asking, 'What the heck are you doing here?' early into his summer run.
No.4: Zaccharie Risacher, Atanta Hawks (No.1 in 2024)
Maybe the No. 4 ranking feels too low for this year's No. 1 pick, but Atlanta's selection of Zaccharie Risacher felt as much about fit and floor as it did his potential.
No.5: Rob Dillingham, Minnesota Timberwolves (No.8 in 2024)
The most interesting move of this year's draft—by a country mile—was Minnesota's aggressive trade to get Rob Dillingham.

All 30 NBA teams will participate in the NBA 2K25 Summer League 2024 from July 12-22 in Las Vegas. A total of 76 games will be played in the 11-day competition. Each team will play at least five games, including four games from July 12-19. After each team plays four games, the top four teams will advance to the playoffs. The two semifinal games will take place on July 21. The two winning teams from the semifinal games will meet in the championship game on July 22.

Heat top Grizzlies in OT to win summer league title​

Pelle Larsson broke a tie by scoring from the lane in overtime to give Miami a 120-118 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday and hand the Heat their first NBA summer league championship. This was the highest-scoring game in championship history and just the second one to go into overtime. The Los Angeles Lakers' 110-98 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers in 2017 had the previous record for total points in the summer league final. Just the year before, the Chicago Bulls defeated the Minnesota Timbeerwolves 84-82 in the only other final to reach OT. Under summer league overtime rules, both teams played to a target score rather than under a clock. That score was set at 120 points.

Game MVP Josh Christopher led the Heat (6-0) with 24 points, Ketl'el Ware had 21 points and 10 rebounds, Alondes Williams scored 21 points, Cole Swider had 19 points and Larsson finished with 16 points. Jake LaRavia led the Grizzlies (5-1) with 32 points, Scotty Pippen Jr. had 29 points and 11 assists and GG Jackson scored 28 points. Brooklyn Nets forward Jalen Wilson was named the summer league MVP earlier in the day. He averaged 21.8 points and 4.6 rebounds, making 47.3% of his field goals and 55% of 3-pointers. Though he was named event MVP, Wilson was chosen for the second team.
