New Year's Resolutions...

Zombie Hunter
I'll go first:

I'm going to stop talking to myself. Usually it is when I do something stupid or someone stupid is driving in front of me, but I realized just how much I do it when I moved in with a person who has a dog. My computer will bog down and I'll say something like "It's OK. Take your time. It isn't like I have anything better to do." And the dog will come into my room with a confused look on his face. Then I need to explain I wasn't talking to him.

Also I've got a nasty case of borderline Tourette's when I talk to myself. My blood pressure will get up and I'll spout a stream of obscenities that is never appropriate and is even less appropriate in certain instances.

I've failed already. :(

What? It's not my fault that there are mentally retarded people on the road after midnight!

Yeah, I somtimes talk to myself too, and have caught myself doing it in public, and a few times to funny stares.

(Actually, I'll admit that once or twice I pretend I had one, to cover myself...)

I think I should just get one of those bluetooth phone ear thingies, them when I do that I can pretend to be talking to someone.

Except I think that people who wear those things constantly look prety stupid. But several times I have passed a person who I thought was a schizophrenic ranting to themselves or talking back to the voices in their head, only to discover they were just on the phone. "Schizophonia", I have heard it aptly called.

It helps that "hands free" cell phones are so common now.

If they give you funny looks, just tap your ear.
(you might want to buy one of those ear-buds even if you don't have a phone to go with it).

Heh. Just realized that apart from stupid drivers, the thing that makes me rant to myself most is when the computer bogs down. When I've got a couple applications open and then the virus protection gets going or the mail app decides to check for mail. I don't want to wait so I start trying to multitask. All this accomplishes is that when the processor starts working again it starts playing catch-up on all the button clicks. So something will finally open and I try to work on it and something else opens on top of it. So I go back and then something ELSE opens on top of it.
