Quarterback Baker Mayfield signed a four-year contract with the Cleveland Browns.

Mayfield contract as the draft's first overall pick is slotted at $32.5 million.

The New York Jets signed their first-round draft pick quarterback Sam Darnold to a four-year contract for the slotted amount of 30.2 million.

The deal includes a $20 million signing bonus.
 
The Minnesota Vikings and wide receiver Stefon Diggs have agreed to a five-year extension worth $81 million, including $40 million in guaranteed money that ties him to the team for the next six seasons (2023).

Diggs, 24, caught 64 passes for 849 yards and eight touchdowns in 2017.

He was on the receiving end of last season's "Minneapolis Miracle"--61 yard catch-and-run as time expired to provide a 29-24 victory over the New Orleans Saints and a trip to the NFC Championship Game.
 
Indianapolis Colts offensive lineman Jack Mewhort has announced his retirement a week into training camp after starting every game he played during his four seasons.

Mewhort, 26, retirement means the Colts have no players currently on their roster from their 2014 draft class.
 
Wide receiver Jordan Matthews who injured his right hamstring, was released by the New England Patriots.

Matthews had signed a one-year, $1 million contract with $300,000 guaranteed ($170,000 pure guaranteed, $130,000 workout
bonus) with the Patriots in April.
 
The Milwaukee Bucks have waived point guard Brandon Jennings.

The Bucks had signed Jennings to a two-year, non-guaranteed contract last season after giving him two 10-day deals.

He average 5.2 points, 3.1 assist and 2.2 rebounds in 14 games for the Bucks.

The Bucks originally drafted Jennings with the 10th overall pick in the 2009 draft.
 
The Cincinnati Bengals released veteran wide receiver Brandon LaFell.

LaFell caught 52 passes for 548 yards and 3 touchdowns last season.

His best season was 2014, when he caught 74 passes for 953 yards and 7 scores for the Super Bowl champion Patriots
 
The San Francisco 49ers announced plans to honor franchise legend Dwight Clark this season.

Clark, who died after a battle with ALS in June, will have his legacy remembered this season via a decal on the 49ers helmets and a statue outside of Levi's Stadium.
 
Oakland Raiders defensive end Khalil Mack continues his holdout and will not be in the team's camp.

By not showing up before the Raiders first preseason game against the Detroit Lions.

Mack will be fined $814,000 per the collective bargaining agreement.
 
49ers to sign RB Alfred Morris

After losing his top two running backs to injuries in a span of a few days, San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan is turning to a familiar face to provide some much-needed depth.

The 49ers intend to sign veteran running back Alfred Morris. Morris' familiarity with Shanahan dates to the two years they spent together with the Washington Redskins in 2012 and 2013.
 
The Washington Redskins released veteran cornerback Orlando Scandrick. Washington signed Scandrick in March to a two-year deal worth up to $7 million.

The move comes as a surprise. He had worked all training camp as a starter.

Scandrick spent his first nine seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, starting a combined 50 games the last four seasons.
 
Dolphins cut Gabe Wright for blindsiding Kenyan Drake in practice fight.

Wright, a 2015 fourth-round pick of the Detroit Lions, was running with the third team and appeared unlikely to make the roster.

He spent most of 2017 on the Dolphins squad.
 
Fans to get free beer with Browns' first victory.

There will be a celebration on tap when the Cleveland Browns win their first regular-season game. Fans will get free beer.

Anheure-Busch, whose Bud Light brand is the official beer of the NFL and 28 of its 32 teams, including the Browns.

Cleveland Browns last win was in week 16 of the 2016 season against the San Diego Chargers.
 
The Seattle Seahawks reached an agreement with free-agent linebacker Erik Walden.

Walden has stuck in the NFL, playing for five teams (Colts, Dolphins, Chiefs, Packers, Seahawks), due to his ability to get after quarterbacks.
 
The Washington Redskins will host free-agent running back Adrian Peterson on Monday, one day after meeting with Jamaal Charles.

The Redskins who worked out Orleans Darkwa on Sunday as well, have been hit with several injuries at running back.

They lost rookie Derrius Guice to a season-ending torn ACL in the preseason opener. Two backups, Samage Perine and Byron Marshall are out with ankle injuries.
