No Intellingence in this Forum! Why?

As a foreigner/writer, I am greatly shocked by the lack of intelligence in this forum. Why? Is there a shortage of common sense?
Is it the public school system? Who is to blame? Perhaps my expectations were too high?

Frankly, I expected better from the so-called richest, most powerful country on the planet. Instead, I am mortified, surprised and greatly disappointed. I see a lot of wise cracks but no wisdom.

Anyone dare to prove me wrong?

Perhaps this is what they mean by the expression "ugly american" :-? ?????
