Big Brother to focus on social networks and smartphone apps online | Celebrity Big Brother | Channel 5

Following speculation surrounding the live feed, we can confirm there will not be a 24 hour live feed from the house available online or on-air.

This year we have decided to focus on the nightly highlights show and on directly engaging with the show's viewers through social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and specially created iPhone, iPad and Android apps.

The aim is to reflect the habits of our audience today and we believe that prioritising social media is the way to get people involved in the show.

They totally don't get social media. What are people going to be tweeting/chatting about if they aren't watching a 24/7 live feed? And what's the point of an iPhone app if it's just about the show? You can only share your opinion of a 1-hour TV show in so many places.

They should have spent the money. This will be bad.
 
They keep going on about how they'll have "clips" available to view via all these social media things, but EVERY BB has had clips on their website so it's hardly revolutionary. And you know what's better than one minute clips carefully selected to fit whatever story the producers want to tell? Actually being able to watch the house LIVE (the whole concept of BB)!
 
SPECULATION: 5's owned by the cunt who owns xenophobic tabloid "news" paper The Daily Express, so the clips will probably consist of crudely stitched together soundbites where Muslim housemates appear to make claims that they're planning to take over the country by outbreeding NATIVE WHITES.
 
Remember turning on 4 after midnight and watching most of them sleeping and Marcus walking around the garden in his duvet probably wanking? We can't even do that.
 
Think of all the people who would miss out on late night repeats of "Freaks of Nature: The Girl Whose Fingers Ate Her" and other sensitive documentaries that would have to be taken off the air if trashy old Big Brother was on instead.
 
Five currently show SUPER CASINO after midnight. I guess they make a lot of money out of gambling addicts ruining their lives.
 
I just tested my trusty UKTV2 connection and it works (thanks Menty).

One good thing is the time zone difference -- CBB airs 5 hours before the live eviction episode of USBB tonight.
 
Is that a website you watch it on? If so, could you link me to it?

We have really thick cloud cover today and I've got no fr@kking signal on 5 at all!
 
A quick Google for UKTV2.xspf will net several download locations. It's a streaming list for VLC Player. Some of the URLs work in WMP too.
 
Phew, now I don't have to feel bad for not checking there first. :)

Cool, I used VLC anyway (WMP? EWW!), so I'll do a google if the signal doesn't come back before tonight.
 
MAYBE MENTY AND TOMTREK COULD WATCH IT WITHT HIS THING TOO IF THEY WANTED, IF THERE'S A FOOTBALLER/PALE GIRL ON IT, EH.

(I face the huge dillema of watching BB or Torchwood...fuck Torchwood.)
