Obama: America is ready for a black president

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, told CNN Monday he is not sure when he will decide on a White House run but expressed confidence that the American people are ready to elect an African-American as their leader.

"I think the American people at their core are a decent people," the Senate's lone African-American member told CNN's Don Lemon. "I think we still have prejudice in our midst, but I think the vast majority of Americans are willing to judge people on the basis of, you know, their ideas and their character."

Obama also said he hasn't set a timetable to decide on a run for the White House but acknowledged he will have to decide in the near future.

"External circumstances and the campaign calendar impose a certain limit on how long it would take for me to make a decision, but at some point I'll make it, and I promise when I do, I'll talk to CNN," Obama said.

I was watching MSNBC a week or so ago and there was a female African American commentator opining about a Barack as president. I believe she said it best when she stated that he did a lot to get elected, made a lot of promises but really hasn't done much so no, he would not make a good president.

Edit: And the only black man I'd ever vote for is Larry Elder. ;)

The only place they comprise a minority at is in the books. God knows, they're crawling out of the woodwork everywhere else.
 
Osama Obama will never be President - not because he's a nigger half-breed son of a subhuman muslim scum - but because he's a bonafide marxist/leninist and cannot run from his record.

You do realize that a considerable percentage of religious blacks in the U.S. are Muslims? And I'm guessing anybody whose parents named him "Barak" stands a good chance of being one of them.

I will not vote for a black or a female presidential candidate for the next three decades. Ask me again in 2036.
 
On another note, with the Mayor of New Orleans proudly crowing that it was going to be "a chocolate city", I refuse to vote for the possibility of "a chocolate nation."
