My box was flooded with so many PMs demanding a change that I was afraid I might miss a naughty one from a poolboy.

So... The Badlands gets 2 mods. But I want to see elections and rotating mods here. Each mod will have a 4 month term that overlaps the other. Vote in a new mod by the end of the week. Only Badlands regulars votes will be counted, so dont make a poll. Duals may vote IF that account is a Badlands regular as well.

The new Mod will be installed right away, but I'm then turning off all mods powers until you decide what rules (as well as rules of mod behaviour) you want in place in this forum. As long as they go along with general TK policy, you can have any rules you want.

Ily will stay on 2 more months as Mod, and at that time you will vote in her replace ment.

Each mod must set out one term before they can be elected a second time. That will give more of you a chance to have power to either keep the peace or abuse depending on what rules you set. You may change the rules at any time by voting on them. Once you have voted on the initial rules, I will turn on the mods power with the understanding that if any thread is moved from this forum by one of the mods, that mod will instantly be demodded and may not be elected again.

Now, let me decide on the regulars.

regulars are anyone posting in those two threads and all of LC's duals.

Since all regulars may not have posted in those two threads, each person who posted in those two threads may list up to 3 other members that have at least 1 post in the badlands or archives in the past, but no new duals may be registered or revived and considered regulars.

OK< the ball is in your court badlanders.... someone start a list of eligable voters and do your thing.

What about when new Badlanders come around? Does it just come to a vote whether to let them in or not, or will some impartial authority determine who's in and who's out?
 
OK, I am going to lock and sticky those two threads now so there isn't any cheating. Also I reserve the right to ask for clarification on any rules you guys vote on since I will be the one looking at the moderator log to decide if a mod misbehaved.

This is all very complicated. What about doing it like EI does watch dogs. Badlanders PM an admin with a nomination, and the admins all vote for someone nominated. We can then do all the stuff you talked about (making sure they are a regular and have sat out at least one term and stuff) without having to worry the pretty empty heads of the masses about it.
 
Since when has TK voted in Mods? Just what the fuck is happening to this place?

And don't be blaming me. When I left we had 3 rules that were cast in stone from the birth of TK. No bans, no hidden forums, and no mods. All three had already been broken before I returned.
 
Not that I think those are bad things. I think the TK experiment failed, which was why I left in the first place. The ugly of total free speech drove away the good until only ugly was left.

Had the minefield and badlands not risen when they did, I believe mm would have just pulled the plug.

Instead, she is accepting that change is needed, and TK is starting to become an adolescent.

Should have happened 3 years ago, IMHO :)
 
I consider myself a regular down here, but I didn't post in any of those threads. Does that mean I'm disqualified?
 
Can we have a 2/3 rule or something similar for rule changes? I could see some pretty pointless/frivolous rules going through otherwise.
 
Yipe. Oh well, shoot for the stars, end up with a face full of moon dust. Guess Ill be getting to wok on an eligible voter list.

Now, seriously... since Dual already gave one of this... things... to Conchaga, I'll do the same with one of mine and would like to add Gonad as a regular.

lol, I thought the same thing* and planned on putting the list together as soon as I get home.




*not really, actually. What I thought was "oh fuck, more work", but yours sounds much more poetic.
