Can anyone tell me which programs have the least spyware/adware/malware?

which ones are any good?

Thanks!

Most off them draw off the main Gnutella network, so you're pretty much stuck.

I don't know how bad the Emule network is, though.

Bit Torrent rocks, but it'll take a but of time to get your head around it.

a bit torrent client like azeureus has NO spyware, and is open source

Bit Torrent + Azureus is the way to go -- although you may have to fiddle a bit with Azureus, as my one gripe about it is that, unlike other BT front-ends such as G3 Torrent, you may get incomplete video with it. Such that you'll see a cascade of pixelation at random intervals, after which the video and sound streams are out of synch. I fixed this on mine by disabling UDP somethingorother, but I forget exactly what I did at the moment. Try the G3 Torrent client, doesn't have that problem.

^^ That's a pretty comprehensive list, but you'll have to go through it all to figure out what's spyware-free and what's not.

You'll definitely need a BitTorrent client, though. I use Azureus, but there are quite a few listed and rated on Slyck. Do some research to find out what's best for you.

I can vouch for Azureus, Shareaza (handles Gnutella, Gnutella 2, eDonkey, and has a really shitty Torrent client as well), Ares, WinMX, and SoulSeek, depending on what you want to use them for.

Thanks everyone!
I'll probably end up going with shareazar. I just want to get my mits on some books that are n o longer available.

Get Bittorent. Then download a "PRO" version of Limewire from BT to cover all bases.

But if you're serious you will want E-Mule and DC++ as well.
