Episodes can be a little samey, but it's worth tuning into the first one to get an idea if you like the formula. A lot of the interest comes from Ben and Jesus's interactions and Jesus's awesome fighting skills. There are a few ongoing story arcs that are interesting, too. Jesus gains grudging respect from a police woman who's been assigned to track him down and it starts to become clear that a lot of the weekly cases are connected, so towards the end of the season the story arcs converge and take prominence.
I think this is probably one of those shows I didn't watch because it's on the same time something else is on that I do watch. I haven't seen any of the episodes.
Someday I will get used to the idea that I can download stuff, but now it seems like it might be a big hassle to download a whole season.
I FORGOT to say last night that I watched the first episode and it was okay. All first episodes seem to be HORRIBLY RUSHED these days but this one took it to ridiculous degress as the main character went from being a bearded bum to working on the case of the week BEFORE THE FIRST ADVERT BREAK! They really shouldn't have tried to introduce every single aspect of the show right away either. But it was well made and the acting was good (though Jim Catweasel has a weird voice and sounded like he was dubbed but wasn't?) so I'll keep watching you bastards.
I saw the Alan Dale appearance in a clip and was seriously considering watching it. Then I realised it was Channel 5 and they tend to have a habit of buying steaming turds of uselessness.
Well it's actually a successful show and it's been renewed...so far it's a MIXED BAG as far as quality goes. This episode was okay (with Alan Dale's dodgy German accent) but not really an episode that would sell the show to somebody.
For me it's one of those shows I just have on in the background. It does tend to be quite samey from week to week until the main story arc really kicks in.
No, I've been off the grid (that's Spooks talk for "being in the Midlands") the last couple of days so didn't know it'd been shown yet. I will investigate.
Well it was on at the same time as Red Dwarf, but I probably wouldn't have watched anyway since I never actually watched Spooks. But it seemed the kind of thing you'd watch and tell me if it's good and I'd say "I might watch that!" then never actually do it.
