Personal Philosophies

I believe in unconditional positive regard.

I also believe in all sides and opinions in a discussion, even those I don't necessarily embrace or believe. Everyone has a voice and everyone is allowed to speak it.

There are exceptions to the above of course, since some people believe that their purpose in life is to make others miserable.

In that regard I say fuck them in the neck, deeply and repeatedly.

What I like about Jordan Peterson: He pisses off the left-wing crackpots who it really, really pleases me to see be pissed off.

What I dislike about Jordan Peterson: He's fallen for the Christianity scam, which error shows him up as just as gullible and just as crackpot as any neon-haired leftist kook.

Because communism/socialism/whatever-they-renamed-it-to-hide-what-it-really-is-this-week operates on the same primitive dipshit switch as Christianity/Judaism/Islam does.

Same old fucking switch in the same old fucking monkey brain. "Here's this problem. You can't see it, you can't quantify it, we can't (and won't be bothered to try to) prove it, but here's a problem.

And guess what? We have the solution. Only we have the solution to this problem that -- we promise -- is afflicting you. Only this very special club we have formed, this very, very exclusive club that we have formed, can solve this problem. Which we again remind you is a very real problem that we in no way totally invented in order to get you to turn to us for salvation, by the way!

And all you have to do to be saved from this problem which -- we promise! -- we didn't totally invent, whole cloth, just to get you to do this -- is surrender. Surrender you life to us. Let us control you. Let us decide what you say, because if we can decide what you can and can't say, that lets us decide what you will and won't think. And once we can do that, we fucking own you.

So maybe here's another angle on my personal philosophy:

Non dii, non domini.

"No gods, no masters."

I thought they pumped out a litter of weird, demonic-looking children, or something. Or was that just a nightmare I had once? Eh, whatever.

One slight correction. Judaism doesn't really promise salvation - everyone goes to the same Greek underworld-style afterlife in Judaism, called Sheol. Christianity and Islam just stole ideas about heaven and hell from Zoroastrianism (makes sense, since the Persians, who were Zoroastrian, liberated the Jews from Babylonian rule)... and then somehow combined it with later Judaism's (since Judaism got its start as a polytheistic religion) "only-one-God-and-we-are-His-chosen-people" mentality, and... well... I don't think I need to say where that combination of ideas ended up leading.
