Pete Burns has died

I just read that too...how sad. RIP

Despite his many transformations and his second career in reality TV, this is how I will always remember him:

When all is said and done, graciousness. A tip of the hat.

Boy George to cover funeral costs for Burns' widower Michael Simpson
'He was one of our great true eccentrics and such a big part of my life!’ George tweeted after the news broke of Burns' death.

Boy George has reportedly offered to pay for the cost of Pete Burns’ funeral as a ‘generous gesture’ to his ex-wife and his widower.

The cost of burying the singer and counter-culture icon had fallen on ex-wife Lynne Corlett and husband at the time of death, Michael Simpson.

Burns died of a cardiac arrest aged 57, on October 25. He was best known for the 1980s hit You Spin Me Round (Like A Record).

After Burns’ death was announced, George said via Twitter: ‘He was one of our great true eccentrics and such a big part of my life!’

A source for The Sun said George wants to help alleviate the burden of losing Burns.

‘It is very sad, but Pete died absolutely penniless and there is no money for a funeral,’ they said.

‘At one point Lynne and Michael were discussing with Pete’s friends about setting up a crowdfunding page to pay for it.

‘But people were not happy about that as they thought it would be undignified for Pete.

‘When George got wind of this, he offered to pay for the whole thing straight away. He thinks [Lynne] and Michael have enough on their plates and wanted to take this concern away from them.

‘It is strangely fitting that one Eighties legend should help out another in this way,’ they added.
