Controversy rages across these great United States of America as to whether force feeding ducks or geese to deliciously fatten their livers should be outlawed.

Pro: It's mean to animals.
Con: It's fucking delicious.
Pro: It's unspeakably cruel and benefits only wealthy gourmets.
Con: WTF? Keep your laws off my dinner, fucking hippie.

Foie Gras is one of the best foods on the planet. I think it goes sushi, foie gras, pizza, caviar pate.

The places that produce it in the US are reputed to be pretty ethical, though, when compared to the horror show that is, say, a battery chicken farm.

As for a goose overpopulation, naturally I think they should be rounded up and force-fed, bringing foie gras to the masses, which would cause the obese to die quicker, making for a shorter line at the Starbucks drive thru in the morning.

I had it for the first time when my daughter graduated summa cum laude from college and I was treating her to dinner. The chef had made it to order, and it was disgusting. Fatty and gross. She loved it, so I knew it was made properly, but YUCK
