Ramsey's "Kitchen Nightmares" US premiere

Damn I missed it. I just got into the UK version recently on BBCA.

I like Ramsay better on this show than Hell's Kitchen. He actually seems to have a heart on this show.

lol - the owner's brother was such a prat!
Mr I'm -all-particular-about -how-my suit/car looks!
-and his playing up to the camera was such bullshit...yeah I'm screaming obscenities at you for ten minutes but now let's have a hug!

Completely Agreed!

Second episode and I'm already seeing how inferior the American version is to the British version. On the ones I watched on BBC-A, Ramsey was his usual raving sphincter self, but at least we saw how he would get hands-on with the cooks or managers and show them specifically how to do it right, instead of just barking about how fucked up they were, which is what 90% of this episode was. They're turning into Hell's Kitchen already.

This episode has an interesting codicil in that the weasely British manager they fired actually sued the show, which may be a first (at least for GR). I'll have to find the link, but he claims they "planted" the rotten food and had him sit on a sawed-leg chair, which of course broke under him (although I don't remember seeing that footage).

Getting worse. This week had another shit-for-brains manager who couldn't take the blame for ANYTHING, only the owner decided to give him one more chance and the guy finally stepped up, once he realized how close was to getting canned.

Do we really need to see the same drama shots over and over AND OVER, especially before and after the commercial break?

And why the fuck are Ramsey & Co spending thousands to remodel dining areas that don't need it that bad? I don't remember him doing it much in the BBC version, and if they did, it wasn't nearly as ostentatious & unnecessary.

Leave it to Fox or Burnett or whomever to fuck up a good thing.

Same crap as last week, but with one LOL moment when the manager (a fat nebbish mama's boy this time) was showing GR how he moved about the dining room when it was busy (a sort of furtive lope), but Ramsey chose to illustrate how ridiculous the guy looked by doing an impersonation, while saying he looked "like a baby rhino looking for a place to shit".
