I think Red Dwarf X got off easy because all it had to do was reach "well, at least it's better than Back To Earth" level. And yeah it was better than Back To Earth but Back To Earth was pretty bad! Maybe they should hire some new writers with fresh ideas to help with the new episodes.

Can it really take a full year to make six episodes of RD?

Its barely May of 2015, and they are advertising a show for 2016.

Well they probably have to write them and wait until Craig Charles is finished filming Corrie/doing drugs/being falsely accused of rape or whatever he's up to now.

I just re-read the thread for Red Dwarf X in Similar Threads and I can't remember any of the stuff we were talking about at all.

I only remember the Jesus episode. You wouldn't think it'd be that difficult to write a good episode... I mean, it's basically The Inbetweeners in space, right?
