It's not what they're doing with him. It's what he's doing to himself.
 
A few of those backdrops monday looked like they hurt.
 
I think that Flair just doesn't care anymore about what happens to him, and he doesn't take the bumps as carefully anymore. He usually leans to his left side when he takes a backdrop due to the plane crash that he was in during the 70's. Doesn't look like he cares anymore.
 
He needs the money for lawsuits & unpaid taxes.

He's also going through a divorce; there's half of his income right there. He's working because he has to, otherwise he's gonna have to sell all his assets and settle for the life of a commoner. Between the divorce, the IRS and lawyers he's pretty much screwed.
