Rick and Morty

Season 3 made a surprise return last night (not an April Fools!)

It was a great new episode. It's amazing how they cram SO MUCH into 22 minutes and yet it didn't feel rushed at all. Some of the scenes were so chaotic that it begs to be watched a second time. Like I saw a Morty shaped like a hammer but he was onscreen for about two seconds before dying so it barely had time to register before something else crazy happened.

Loved the Rick/Morty/Summer dynamic as always! I've seen people say Rick went FULL VILLAIN in this one but to be honest it felt perfectly in character with the first two seasons.

The ending was an even more twisted version of the "Rick and Morty forever!" speech from the first ever episode and it was great. Nine seasons, Morty!

I liked the Lawyer Morty.

Phoenixperson! YES!

Yeah that as really an incredible amount of stuff for 22 minutes.

Anyone else watch it?

No I didn't realize the new season had started. Oh well I'll try and watch it ON DEMAND.

I signed a petition at Change.Org to bring back the Mulan McNugget sauce. I doubt it will work:(

Excellent episode and a nice surprise.

Those massive battle scenes are so insane and imaginative.

Do we really have to wait til the summer for more?

Heh, I saw a review for Ghost in the Shell that started with "imagine if McDonalds did sushi" (I would enjoy it and want to eat it all again straight away apparently).

New season starts (again) tonight! I assume they're showing the second episode. I'll rewatch the first as well just because a lot of stuff happened in it.

I think they're on Netflix a day later so I'll see what I think tomorrow.

I wasn't too keen on the Mad Max episode. I've been trying not to let my expectations get too out of hand, but I definitely laughed less than in most of the old episodes. I also didn't really go for the story too much. After everything Summer and Morty have been through I can't imagine their parents divorce seeming like such a traumatic event.

Good to hear the voice of Gillian Jacobs as Supernova!

I wonder how far they can take Rick without Mortywalking out on him. Or if they're setting up a Morty versus Rick story. Or if Morty's just going to continue to grow more nihilistic and Ricklike because nothing matters and the last is just them both dying in a space crack den or something.

Million Ants was cool.

I thought this week's was good, as far as I can tell (things aren't still feeling surreal in general, but I need distractions.) I liked that Rick actually was nice to Jerry in his own Rick way. Morty telling off Beth was good and Morty showing how much Rick's rubbed off on him by solving Summer's problem and brutally maimng the guy who was mean to her.

"Is that a collage of hooves?"

This week's was also a good, fun episode and seemed to acknowledge the "Rick has been more evil than usual" thing. And damn Morty has a lot of sex with adult women for a 14 year old boy.
