The Legendary Troll King
Ronda Rousey made history as the first woman to win both the UFC and the WWE championship, but she won’t be seeing the inside of another professional fighting ring anytime soon.

On August 1, the WWE announced that Rousey would be suspended following an attack on referee Dan Engler. As described in their statement, “An irate Rousey attacked the official after her SmackDown Women’s Title Match, claiming he missed [her opponent] Liv Morgan tapping out to the Armbar while he counted the pinfall.”

Video of the incident shows Rousey grabbing the referee by the arm and flipping him over her shoulder onto the ring’s floor, where she pinned him down until another official got involved.

In addition to suspension, the fighter has also been fined an undisclosed amount.

The day before her punishment was announced, Rousey posted photos of the match to Instagram, writing, “Hey @wwe if you guys could stop screwing me to put over your golden girls at every major ppv that’d be greaaaaaat.”

Rousey has posted to Instagram since the suspension, thanking a variety of stylists and brands for her look, but has yet to comment further on the situation. Her suspension also means Rousey won’t be appearing on this week’s Friday Night SmackDown.

So between this and Vince's headlines, I'm a tad confused.

Is wrestling real now?

Or has it always been real?

So that epic Vince is really the Higher Power behind The Undertaker stuff I remember as a kid. . . that wasn't scripted fare, but fuckin' real? Awesome.

Never been real. Rousey used to be a powerhouse MMA fighter and even dabbled in acting. This is a chronicle of her slow decline.

Ronda Rousey's Bad Week Continues With Announcement Of New 'Roadhouse' Star

As Ronda Rousey deals with the fallout from her indefinite suspension from WWE following her actions at SummerSlam, the Superstar and former MMA fighter is facing more bad news about her involvement in the “Roadhouse” remake.

According to "Deadline," two-time UFC champion Conor McGregor will co-star in a remake of the 1989 hit alongside Jake Gyllenhaal for Amazon Prime Video. The plot will reportedly be reimagined a bit and focus on a former UFC fighter (Gyllenhaal) who takes a job as a bouncer (or “cooler”) in a notoriously rough roadhouse bar in the Florida Keys. However, he soon learns that not everything is as it seems and must put his skills to the test.

While it’s unclear who McGregor will play, it seems Rousey is no longer attached to the project at all. For those unfamiliar, shortly after appearing in action films such as “The Expendables 3” and “Furious 7,” Rousey was tapped for her biggest acting role yet as the lead of a planned remake that would see her take on the role that Patrick Swayze made famous in the original film.

That was back in 2015 and since then it was largely assumed the project was dead in the water. Now, with the announcement that McGregor and Gyllenhaal are leading a seemingly new remake project, it seems Rousey is officially out. Rousey’s project was no longer happening long before the WWE announced she’ll be suspended and fined from the organization after she attacked a referee at SummerSlam following a questionable call during her match against Liv Morgan.

Other names attached to the cast include Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Lukas Gage, Hannah Love Lanier, Travis Van Winkle, B.K. Cannon, Arturo Castro, Dominique Columbus, Beau Knapp, and Bob Menery. Meanwhile, Doug Liman is directing a script written by Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry.
