Iraqi private network Biladi TV showed the dead body of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein draped in a white shroud after his pre-dawn execution Saturday.

Saddam was a force for stability (Donovan would love that).

We should have made sure he remained in our pocket instead of making him an enemy.

But, what the hell. His country is in the midst of a civil war. If we could just leave, they'd go on killing themselves for decades.

Dead fanatics are a good thing.

Osama was a fanatic. Saddam was a secularist dictator.

I didn't say Saddam was the fanatic. I said he was a force for stability. He kept the fanatics quiescent.

With Saddam gone, now the fanatics will kill each other.

Thus: dead fanatics are a good thing.
