In general, we try to moderate AQG a bit less strictly than the other forums, since it is, after all, the place to hash out complaints and the like. But it isn't a place where we all have free rein to attack each other personally, and lately several folks on different sides of the debate have been crossing that line. It's okay to criticize someone's position, even strongly -- to say "Arguments that the Earth is flat are laughably ignorant of the most basic scientific principles" or "I think most educated people would disagree with the argument that the Earth is flat." It's not okay to extrapolate a deficiency of personal character from that position: "Flat Earth Society members clearly want to drag us screaming back into the Dark Ages" or "I think most educated people would call you a fool for arguing that the Earth is flat."

Please be mindful of that distinction, or you will have to eat a warning.

Keep in mind, too, that this is the forum for As, Qs, and Gs, not for political debates. If you find your discussion drifting back into that territory, please continue it in OT.

Basically, this stemed from multiple events. Cait, and the rest of her ilk, have been attacking conservatives in their political forum (the OT) since god knows when. Our old buddy G1223 finally had it, and said that they were a bunch of traitors and terrorists. A few warnings, and 160 posts of arguing later in AQG, and we get this ruling from the mods.

It would have been the perfect opportunity to throw some gasoline on the fire, except, I haven't had to. They've been going after each other like a pack of Michael Vick's pit bulls for over a week.

I reminds me of the time the porn industry used a come shot by John Holmes in place of everyone else's, even black people, just to prove a point.
