Secret Invasion

Looks interesting.

Tough to get enthused about anything Marvel these days. I really dug the MCU but they lost me in Phase 4.

olivia colman in anything!!

where's hulkling
Since Olivia's Heartstopper co-star Joe Locke is going to be Billy/Wiccan in Agatha: Coven of Chaos, they might as well bring in Kit Connor to be Hulkling... he's been getting so jacked lately I could swear he's waiting for the call...

It was...fine, I guess. Nothing really stood out, good or bad. Script was just functional and stuff where Fury was walking around Russia at night looked really cheap. Felt like they could have set up the whole situation with the Skrulls better. No explanation at all as to why Fury and Carol didn't find them a homeworld in the last thirty years. I guess they just couldn't be bothered?

Been waiting for Maria to get more to do for eleven years now and I guess dying qualifies.

Probably the least I have enjoyed any first episode of a marvel show, reminded me too much of falcon and winter soldier.

I thought the second episode was an improvement. It certainly did a much better job setting up the story and really those pre credit scenes, especially the clips from Captain Marvel, should have been in the first episode. The scene with Rhodey was good and I guess we're supposed to think he's a Skrull because he was being a dick but he's always been a bit of a cop anyway. Olivia Colman got a better scene and I'm guessing Fury knows his wife is a Skrull already.

Emilia Clarke's charater is stilly painfully underwitten and just sneaks around looking sad.

It's funny how they're doing the Super Skrull but can't use the Fantastic Four so it's taking powers from Groot(!?) and three other random aliens.

I liked how Fury played the race card and Rhodey ripped him a new one.

But yeah he's the most wanted man on the planet and they send one guy to arrest him.

Is Gaia the one who told where the safe house is, but let the guy who was being tortured take the blame? WHO was the lady with the old timey syringe (why do they always use old timey syringes?) Does Fury know his wife is an alien? Why is Fury so EMO? Why do Russian scenes in movies almost always include a butcher shop?

I AM GROOT.

Gaia is Emilia Clarke. She never used to be quite that skinny.
The English woman is the head of the UK's secret spy/torture division played by Academy Award winning actress Olivia Colman. Old timey syringes are more scary?
Fury's wife was actually in the opening scene in Skrull form so it's pretty certain he knows she's an alien.
Fury disappeared for five years with half of the universe's population and is probably still struggling with not knowing what was going on during that time.
Russians love meat.

So the Skrull trying to start a nuclear war apparently bonded enough with the human son of the guy he was impersonating enough that he gave up when Fury threatened the kid? Was he planning to take the kid to a nuclear bunker?

Skrull Emilia Clarke might be dead but the human she replaced could still be alive and stuff.

I can't believe Fury's wife who was introduced last week and who we knew next to nothing about turned out to be a traitor.
