Seeking Free Virus Worm Removal

I am helping a neighbor, they seem to have a worm or trojan infection on thier PC.

Does anyone have a recomendation for the best free virus/trojan/worm removal?

AVG or Avast!. There are quite a few others. Most ISPs will have something for free. Comcast gives away norton for free.
