Also I find the idea of a liberal Germany to be downright hilarious.

Actually........

Those clips were from a movie from about ten or fifteen years ago, where a German SS detective and an american reporter (I think) investigate a murder of a high-ranking nazi official. Turns out, that official was one of the few remaining people who knew about the "final solution" and his murder was ordered by Hitler, to keep the final solution covered up.

Or some such. I really wanted to watch it when it came out, but being that I was in high school and my parents didn't have cable (it was an HBO movie), I missed it. However, I did see it about five years later on network tv, when it was an ABC sunday night movie. Of course, it was on at 1135 at night, and I had to miss the end of it.

I'd still like to get my hands on it, but I don't know the title.
 
That explains things. I recognized the parts from Saving Private Ryan but thought that clip was too high quality for some fly-by-night operation like NSM88. I was stunned when watching this the first time.
 
I can burn a copy of Fatherland is anyone wants it. It's really very cheesy.
