I don't know how many here knew it; I didn't until today, but Shalamar died last month. Maybe it was mentioned here and I missed it, but I just wanted to say this:

I tied into her many times on this board and on EI, and she always handed it right back. I didn't have a thing in the world against her, and I hope she didn't have anything against me. God rest her soul.

It's a bitch to find out those so-called "fake internet emotions" feel pretty authentic, huh? I don't know who Shalamar is and my condolences to anybody who liked her. But it bears repeating. The only thing we are guaranteed in life is our last breath. No one can take it from us, it is ours whether we spend it now or later, or spend it wisely or foolishly. It's ours by right.

What we are not guaranteed is the right to decide WHEN to spend it. So our only option is to spend EVERY breath like it's that last one, and that way when it does happen we won't feel cheated that we wasted it...
