Shucks and Tarnation!

It is time to start getting ready to go out for the festivities this evening - dinner with friends, followed by party downtown with fireworks, then coming home with beer to join in with cookout across the street. It just started pouring down rain - again. It was already soaking wet out there. The fireworks at the ballpark last night were poofters because it is so damp.

Dang!

I'm relaxing and getting ready for festivities tommorrow night-Fourth of July at the Empire State Plaza. Music, games, and fireworks.

My give-a-shit has left the building this year. There are fireworks outside right now and I can't be bothered to get up...

I was almost this way, until I remembered why I liked fireworks: Feeling the concussive sound waves slam through me, especially combined with the strobe-like rockets.

We went to the fireworks display at the botanical gardens in Fort Worth. Got to sit on the top level of a high rise parking structure - private parking so the crowd was very limited. Not only an excellent view but magnificent sound effects. Had to be the best fireworks display I've ever seen.

Afterwards went to see Twilight: Eclipse - pretty good - cgi wolves were much better this time too.

Then, out to dinner with a long drive afterwards that ended out at the lake to watch the sun rise. It is so wet and the sky so full of rain the sun didn't actually rise as it got just a little lighter outside. I'm considering it a reasonable expectation that the sun is shining.

You may. I am adopting the "shucks and tarnation" phrase to my lexicon and plan to use it as often as appropriate and maybe sometimes when it isn't.
