So began the words that America’s Founding Fathers made when they made their break with the King. And they are words that keep coming up as I consider the state of Wordforge. More than a few of us think the board, in its present form, is broken. Badly. Some of us have felt strongly enough to take actions that earned us bannings. Others have just walked away. And still others are keeping their options open.

Maybe Wordforge hasn’t gotten to the point where it is time for another mass exodus. Maybe it has. At any rate, several of us have found our way here, to TrollKingdom, and MissManners has been good enough to give us this subforum.

The intent of this forum is not to pointlessly bitch about what Wordforge has become, but to establish what we want Wordforge to BE. The forum is free and open to anyone and, in the spirit of Wordforge, we welcome opinions from all sorts.

The first order of business will be to hammer out what we want out of Wordforge. Once we get that, we’ll need to see if we can make it work at the URL we’ve gotten so familiar with. If we can’t, then we need to see where we want to take these principles—maybe to a new board, maybe one that already exists, maybe it will stay right here, tucked neatly into TrollKingdom. That isn’t for me to decide by myself. That is for all of us to decide.

I look forward to working with you all in the coming weeks to fix the rifts that have developed and get back to the community we started all these years ago.

Absolutely not. Nick Walczak, although an incredibly capable, mature, solid poster, is not fit to assist in the building of Störmforge. Störm will have to clean out Nick Walczak's liberal tendencies with his gudu-plong first. Only then will this newly reborn acolyte be fully accepted into the fold.

Judging by some of Nick's comments here as well as at WF, I'd say he might not be so bad.

I think we have all seen the good sides of Nick as well as some of his not so good sides. I also think that over the past few years he has matured quite a lot which is quite evident in his actions recently.
 
In addition to Nick Walzack, there is a Walzack, Nick troll posting here. Much like our boy Strom here (sorry, I don't know how to do the umlauts :shrug: ).

I blame myself for that, as I was the one that made a thread about that stupid ass Cat Macros comm at LJ for TKO (Who always had cute kitty avatars). :jayzus:
 
Well...

It was worth a shot. I guess when it came down to it, I didn't really think we'd be able to fix things at Wordforge. But it was worth a shot. And who knows? Maybe our actions were able to make some changes. In the end, since the root issue still exists, I dunno if they'll make a difference, but what the hey. :shrug:

And we had some interesting discussion about running a BBS and blew off a little steam. I've got all the parts and pieces to build a BBS, so who knows? Maybe by the time the next flare-up happens we'll be ready. But for now, I don't think we're accomplishing anything here, so it's time to turn off the lights, put up the chairs, and call it a day. ...until next time.

Thanks to MissManners for giving us this little forum and for some sound advice she's given me during the past few days. Thanks also to the various denizens of TK. The place can be a little jarring at first, but once you get acclimated it is every bit the community that WF (or TBBS) was (and I mean that in a good way).
