Greetings to all fellow citizens of ExIsle!

I'm writing to ask for your help. For several years, Rov was able to keep this site alive by appealing to members for financial support of the site. Our cost at our current server location is $99 per month plus some other fees here and there (like the URL registration and stuff like that), but we anticipate an increase once we move to the new server. And unfortunately, we have not made enough from any affiliate sales recently to break the lower boundaries for them to issue us checks (which in the case of Amazon is $25/quarter), so we are taking in no funds there to offset these fees.

Therefore, since he took over the site, LoP has been bearing these costs out of his own pocket. This is a significant challenge for him, particularly given some recent events in his personal life. And so, in the tradition of past EI drives, with LoP's permission I am writing to ask that if you can afford to help keep EI running, please chip in and provide LoP with a donation.

Any amount that you can afford to chip in will help LoP with costs. You can PM him and ask for his snail mail address, to send him a check or a money order, or you can use his email, also available from him via PM, to send funds via PayPay (those are somewhat reduced by the fees charged by PayPal, FYI, but that's his preferred method for donation if you don't mind).

Please note that these funds are not refundable and are not tax deductible. LoP intends to spend them to pay for the web hosting services and software licensing to keep the site running.

Please note also that this thread was MY idea and solely my idea. LoP did not request that I start this thread, but I hope that those of us who enjoy this site and can afford to help will be moved to contribute. I believe also that the "Support Us" links are being updated and there will be more information about how to help EI that way, as well.

No, but you are more than welcome to take that $1000 and buy something for yourself or significant other through one of EI's affiliates. :)

I've bribed people before. $100 bill folded and unfolded, then slowly pushed across a desk has done wonders for me from time to time.

$1000 for 90 days is a hell of a bribe.

Largest bribe I've ever paid was $2,000. Was worth it, too.

Oh and right..... what might others think, if they experience bandwidth problems or whatever, if you had a perfect chance to solve them overnight?
