Ok, so researching on the net is elementary. But, QT’s kid is, what, ten? This is probably one of his first *big* research projects and needs some pointers. It can be argued that the net is not one of the more reliable sources out there. Yeah, there are some good sites, but then when he uses Google he can hit some neo-naziesqe site which won’t be readily apparent to someone like him. Plus, the fact that some of us might know a little bit more than the websites, and can point him in another direction that might not be apparent to anyone else.

When people ask “why troll EI, were just a bunch of helpless twits, its like kicking a puppy?” I point them to posts like Zack’s. He single-handedly not only showed us why all of these Hollywood types are pricks, but that the EI elite deserve every fucking slam, poke, troll, and aggravation that they can get. Asses like him made me. Asses like him are why I do what I do.

I've known "MuseZack" for over five years now. (When I was only known for my Andromeda reviews he and Ashley named the "Ogami" assassins of the show after me.)

Later, as I started posting on politics on the old SlipstreamBBS and later on ExIsle, I got a dose of his intolerant side. Basically he's bought into the notion that he really is a "Demigod" and his views are so superior to everyone else's. (Edited to add: I was honestly glad for him at the success of his script for Agent Cody Banks.)

That's okay, but what frosted me at ExIsle was how the "moderators" would overlook anything he'd say, and nail me or other posters for saying far milder things. I'm not a demigod, and wouldn't want to be made one there. I'm glad he has like-minded liberals to chat with there, they take smugness to a new low.

Sorry to disagree Robl, but the child is being lazy. I'd slap my girls if they asked online people for homework help. It's their homework and they shouldn't be looking for others to do it for them.

If the little shit can't look up Google now (or *gasp!*, go to the LIBRARY), then he should reserve his place in McDonalds or the Army now.

Besides what the fuck happened to libraries? I know Bonz is old but I'm surprised she's the only one who's brought it up.

Part of learning is doing the research, not getting others to do it for you. Also, the internet is not considered (nor should it be) a reliable source of factual, accurate information.

True. Besides, it's an old Internet tradition to snarl at posters who want others to do their homework for them. It's always happened on Usenet; ExIsle isn't the first place online it's ever happened.

Teach your kid how to use a library -- or go buy books at a bookstore, if library use is beyond your capacity.

Mind you, when I saw that thread, I couldn't be bothered to read it, because I've seen all that begging-for-help-with-homework-online back on Usenet. If he doesn't learn now to do his own studying, then will he ever?

Yes, she raises him very strictly. But that strictness should include learning how to use a library instead of relying on Internet information. What, library books would give him the wrong impression?? So does the fracking Internet!

I might have brought it up had I bothered to read the thread and not noticed commentary about it here. Hah! (But maybe I'm the only other one here who remembers libraries, having actually worked in them. Times are like that these days... *spit*)
