Soooo....

Friday

Bazinga!
Instead of insuring the observers are serving their original purpose, and making them feel comfortable enough to report back to the general membership on any concerns they might have regarding staff, the WHOLE CATEGORY is disbanded?

Shit, accountability *really* has them quivering in their boots, doesn't it?

The observers were never meant to report back to the rest of the board what was going on in The Shelter. The fact they had to adhere to the same secrecy rules as mods was always mentioned when their purpose was discussed.

Then I'm confused. What was their purpose?

Then the positon of observer was a useless one. The staff does what they want, regardless of input, whether it be general membership or otherwise.

Still, my question still stands. Why disband the entire category? Why not allow one or two members access? What are they hiding?

I don't buy Elwood's "until we examine the matter further" bullshit. That's Wordforgese for "Keep 'em on a string. They'll believe any shit we shovel their way".

And the sad thing is? He's right.

Then what was the purpose of having "observers"? What difference did they have from mods and admin other than lacking the ability to dole out warnings and bans?

I must say, I apparently didn't properly understand the observer role. I assumed they were supposed to be the eyes of the posting body. Seems they were instead just policy staff.

Observers were a plecebo to make the unwashed masses think they had a voice in the boards government...

You know...

Like Congress :)

To be honest, no one really gives a damn about your opinions or questions.

Friday Have you not been reading? :jayzus:

I have been reading Friday, but I know better. I know that you don't have anyone's best interests at heart but your own.

For someone whose opinons or questions you don't care about, you're sure making a big fuss about them.

Ignoring them, without acknowledging them, would have proven your point. You dropped the ball and showed your ass on that one, child.

Look. I'm not the only one negging you. Get a clue.

Isn't that sort of the reason for areas such as this one right now? Because of the perception that WF staff doesn't give a shit about what its members feel? How exactly do you determine which opinion's are worthy of being heard and which ones are not Nick?

As far as I know, I can still log on, utilize the PM system (not that I would anymore ;) ), and access the Gray Room.

Is that not what a member can do?

Keep on spinnin', dude. It's not like I have a database you can threaten to steal from me. :)
