SPAIN 3 - TUNISIA 1

I saw the game and I daresay it was a hoot. There were the Tunisian fans becoming excited at the start of the 2nd half because their team was ahead. The Tunisian coach was ready to get down upon his knees and praise Allah the way he believed the team was going to get away with a win.

PALADIN here did not show any such inclination towards a possible upset. I KNEW Spain would come back. They do this all the time. It looked to me in the first half they were somewhat disorganised. I knew all they needed was to regroup and I was certain they would do so in the second half. Sure enough this is exactly what happened. Even the sports commentators were coming up with remarks like 'Spain are panicking and they need to work harder if they want to avoid a major upset at the hands of the Tunisians'. I was laughing so hard my stomach hurt. Spain has won 23 consecutive matches and they think little nothing Tunisia is going to beat them?

Towards the final 20 minutes of play the Spaniards STILL played a patient game, working towards a break. Suddenly they score 2 goals in a span of 5 minutes. I merely yawned because I already know how good they are. It was a simply 'ho-hum' bit of crap for me.

Remember! You saw it here folks! Spain vs. Argentina for the final! Who wants to bet???

Spain were stifled by industrious Tunisian play for much of the match, and indeed led until the 71st minute. It was looking very much "Here's the World Cup Spain we all know and love", until Raul shook off his marker and banged it in from close range.

Spain, and more importantly for them, Torres then woke up and dominated until the end. Spain are looking dangerous.

I absolutely do not agree. Spain was 'stifled' by no one. It was their own uninspired play that allowed Tunisia to take the lead. In fact, it is my estimation Spain was taking it easy in this game. Their confidence was such that it was actually becoming dangerous. During the Half-time break it is my belief the coach told them that it was now alright to at least give a passing resemblance to a team actually TRYING. Not once was I ever worried about Tunisia.

I am of the belief SPAIN is one of the best, if not THE best teams in the World Cup. Remember, they are currently undefeated in 23 tries. One can see why upon watching them play. After the 70 minute marker Spain owned the entire field. Tunisia was not even a ghost of a threat. Spain's passing and striking are works of art at times - very close to matching Argentina in fact.
