Sprite Artists Needed

I think you can guess for what. Who's willing?

Feel free to PM me.

"Sprite?"

As in fey creatures?

Hmm... could have elaborated on that a bit better.

That's about as complicated as it gets.

How do people create these? Is it a specific program, or what? I see lots of these type of characters/caricatures all over the place, but don't know how they're made. If you have the know-how, I might be interested in seeing what I can do to assist.

I'm using a program that does a lot of the work for you.

It comes with a bunch of default graphics and sounds, but I think something better can be made, even if it is one or two extra characters.

That shows you the dimensions needed for sprites (Things that move around, like characters). In fact, everything there is outlined.

They don't have to be wonderful and thanks to the small size no one need toil over creating a masterpiece.

I'll also supply as many templates as needed, like those 3 up there.

If someone would like to make something else, like say, a battle background, they could try to take some part of TK and draw it, so to speak. Like MF.

And if I (or some other brave soul) did some art for some characters, the 16-shot character model sheets, you'd put them together in the appropriate file and such to animate?

Yep. Just need those sheets and everything else is taken care of. And any needed resources would be supplied. Templates or whatever.

How many characters do you need?

Anyone specific?

I'm at work, but tonight I'll check out that link. If I could fuck Mirah sideways last night, I certainly could spend the time tonight doing something equally productive.

One at a time is fine. There are some other things that'd be useful, like isolating certain characters from pictures. That might seem trivial but it's important, because it's time consuming for me as it isn't my specialty.

Here's the dude we need:

http://www.thehiddenelect.com/yoda.jpg <--2 Meg image, beware.

http://www.thehiddenelect.com/sirmenty.zip - A set of templates. Paint over them or create your own. We just want a yoda who conforms to the overall 'look' they exhibit. Slightly blurred, etc. Again, not an artist myself so..

EDIT: f*ing domain. They're up in any case.

Who did the artwork on the characters in the zip, and does Yoda need to be "yoda-sized" in relation to normal characters?

Those characters come with the program being used to make the whole thing.

Yoda can be their size or a bit shorter (1/6th for instance.) Whatever would be easier.

EDIT: So long as he maintains that bearded look.

And you want the Yoda to have the Fu Manchu and all that, not "classic" SW Yoda, right?

I'll see what the late night weekend opium visions allow me.

Ok, I downloaded the images from sirmenty.zip. I have the one up called thief03.jpg. There are 16 of them in various poses.

I'm using fireworks 8 so I can "do" anything, but I'm not sure what you'd like.

Files must be .bmp or .png <- Should have mentioned that before.

I'm not sure at the moment either.

Those templates are for custom character creation, as models of sorts. Since you ask, I do have someone specific in mind. I was going to use a standard goblin character.

Hellman.

Nothing distorted, just his plump, bald, big-rimmed glasses self.

No go for me this weekend, Mess. The kid's been sick all weekend. Long days, late nights...

I hope everything turns out OK. Thanks for considering.
