Starcraft

I should say that the Marquis and I tried this last night, but we had horrible lag issues, which I attribute to the wireless network at my house.

I'll try again at school.

Just finished a game with Caco and Bick.

Bick had horrible lag so the game was all in slow mo. It meant I could micromanage everything like crazy though.

It was the three of us vs. two comps. Caco got attacked first as always and Bick and I had to save her. Bick expanded to a second base while Caco and I focused on our main bases.

After building up a bunch of Hydra's I attacked the protoss above me with help from Caco. Bick attacked the Zerg base below him. After finishing off the Protoss we went to help Bick with the attack on the Zerg and finished them off.

Overall it was a quick and easy game.

Edit: Lol, cow beat me to the report :D

Game report: Game was played on a 'Fastest map possible' variety, where resource drops are stacked to minimize worker unit movement. I've my opinions on these maps, but that's not important atm.

The main issue we faced was lag, quite possibly attributed to the fact that I was trying to grab the Brood War ISO from a torrent at the same time.

I chose Random and ended up Zerg; Cow played Zerg and Cac played Terran.
AIs were Zerg and Protoss.

Lag slowed the pace down further than I typically care for (and I've almost always played at full speed, not at default). I sent out my Overlords to scout out the map to determine who was where after we established the allies and shared vision amongst ourselves.

Cac was the first attacked, by Protoss. They were wreaking havoc against her defenses, so I tossed a pair of two sacrificial zerglings her way to distract them while Cow sent some hydralisks to draw them into a trap.

I expanded to a satellite base, exposing the weakness of this map's nature: You can't build new hives/command centers/nexuses in the same position as the original as the game's spacing rule kicks in. Meanwhile, Cac rebuilt her defenses and Cow built up his forces. I sent a drone to build up a new satellite base and it got anally raped by a marauding force of protoss, who went and attacked Cac again. This time, she beat them back with help of a set of my own hydralisks.

Cow then pillaged and raped his way through the Protoss base, decimating them. I toyed with red for a moment, drawing out most of its hydralisks with a quad of mutalisks right to where I had an entire squad of my own hydras buried with a complement of zerglings.

With the comp's hydras raped, I went on a rampage through its base, with Cac and Cow joining in with their (bigger) forces.

Fun stats: Cow only lost one unit.

I just successfully played a match as the Zerg :D

It would be so much easier if I always didn't get attacked in the first 5 minutes :(

I finally got BroodWar installed. w00t!

Also, for those of you who don't want to deal with discs, if you copy your Install.exe from your BroodWar CD to your Starcraft directory and rename that file to 'BroodWar.mpq', you no longer need the disc to run.

If you've a Mac, double check the updater. It'll have the instructions for you.

Also, my list of good eight player maps:

Wheel of War
Theatre of War
Primeval Isles
Bridge to Bridge
A modified The Hunters (terrain alteration)

Aye, Primeval Isles kicketh butt. Arctic Station FT 4-player W.

Your build order:

Constantly build SCVs.
At 7/10 units used, build supply depot.
At 9/10 build barracks.
Don't bother with Vespene until you have a bunker and/or Academy.

Never use the build queue feature unless you are massing units later in the game.

With all SCVs mining you can make more SCVs and Marines constantly. Slip buildings when cash allows it, but don't stop making those until you have a good economy. Build another Barracks early on if you suspect a rush.

Speaking of which, in case of rush build bunker next to Command Center and miners. Fill with 4 marines and upon attack, order miners to repair bunker. Zerglings are toast, large zealot rushes require firebats and 2+ bunkers, and marines + medics will own your lone bunker.

I noticed that in a replay where I got pwned by a 12 zealot rush.
None of the Protoss touched Vespene until after the second gateway.

IIRC--

Pylon
Gateway
Gateway
Pylon
Shield Battery
Assimilator
Gateway
Pwn any Zerg players.

I'm getting better.

You should have seen me when I first started playing. I was absolutely horrendous :D

I like crazy critters and crystallis (sp?). I would have loved to play last night, but I was exhausted. Can we set something up for Sunday evening?
My problem (as Z can tell you) is attacking my allies if they are the same race as my enemy.

oopsie...

;)
