I belive the Series one would

MacGyver vs. Kurt Russel? Come on.

The series is far superior. And I'm not even a big Stargate fan.

First off, there is a difference. And it's in the spelling, which you've been in error since the beginning.

Jack O'Neil - Stargate Movie
Jack O'Neill - Stargate SG-1

O'Neill makes a remark in an early Season One episode.

"That's O'Neill, with two L's. There's another Colonel O'Neill with only one L, and he has NO sense of humor."

This was referring to the different spellings to give a difference to the two characters, not only in actors, but approaches to the characters.

call me crazy, but I think RDA is cute.

Well I think Amanda Tapping and Lexa Doig are cute, so I think you're safe with your RDA fixation. ;)

Amanda Tapping is getting old.

She's 40 years old. She's not that old.

She looks like she's a somewhat pretty 50 year old.

She's pretty plain.

Gen. Jack O'Neill is a smartass.

But I like the way RDA plays the character better than KR did.

The series is based on the film. The character wasn't nearly as boyish as RDA potrays him as being now.

In the film his kid had just died, in the series he'd mostly got over it.

Let's face it. Jack O'Niel from the film was a hardass. He was willing to detonate a nuclear weapon in his face to save his men and the Earth. He didn't joke around like a goof-ball and he wasn't an idiot.

Jack O'Niell from the series is so diffrent. I dunno, I loved MacGuyver, but I just don't like the O'Niell from the series.

And to be fair, the one in the series had hundreds of hours to flesh out his character, the one in the film had 2.
