Well, I don't really know. I like sun and sea, mountains and snow - but only to visit the snow. Know of any places American retirees flock to?

Well, Genoa has sun, sea, and isn't too far away from mountains and snow.

I was gonna reccomend Rome or Milan. Either that, or something on the outskirts. To be perfectly honest, pretty much all of Italy is a great place to live. Just try and stay out of the southernmost parts of Italy. The OC is bad and not too many people speak english.
