The CW's taking a stab at post-apocalyptic scifi. I HOPE IT DOESN'T SUCK :rwmad:

Henry Ian Cusick is in this, but he's not one of the hot teenagers sent to earth, dammit. DESMOND!!!!!11

From watching the trailer, it seems the people on the Ark are about to execute 300 people. I don't understand why they don't send them to earth, too. From what I've read about the show all crimes are capital crimes on the Ark, minors are imprisoned until they are 18 and adults are executed. Not sure if they execute the minors once they're 18, but if that's the case it seems silly to bother imprisoning them when the Ark is running out of resources.

This show could be really good, it does look a little too shiny, and it's the CW so the people are too pretty... I will overlook the shiny pretty people if the writing is good.

I'm up to my tits with shows that start with, "OK, imagine the following....(half-hour of set-up)...NOW, suppose...(another half-hour)..."

I guess I'm not a very good fantasty/sci-fi fan today, am I lol.

It was alright, I think. There were some things that irritated me, though. I WILL TELL YOU ABOUT THEM :rwmad:

I kinda knew the boys would go all lord of the flies. It's a cliche now. I was hoping they would skip that particular trope and go for something a bit more original. The guy from Continuum will have an angry face until he dies by mutated monkey spear, imo!

The Ark's government it stupid and totally unbelievable. They don't just airlock minor criminals, they airlock scientists who disagree with them. Scientists who could be helpful and important in figuring out how to fix the Ark, or get people settled on earth. Desmond seems unreasonably evil!

ALSO don't these rebellious boys realize earth is huge and if they don't want to live under the Ark's rule they can just take off? Weirdos.

The premise of the show is a bit stupid. If it is so very important to find out if earth is habitable, they should have sent down some scientists. Pinning their hopes on a bunch of juvenile delinquents doesn't make a bit of sense.

I didn't hate it. I will watch it again, I just hope it gets better. I can forgive the premise if they don't keep on doing stupid things.

There was a splendidly nerdy rant about the science in one of the comments on a review I read today. I guess the writers didn't think about all those dead bodies becoming frozen missiles that could destroy the Ark.

The opening was so comically rushed. I mean pilot episodes are always really rushed THESE DAYS but this took it to a new level. They should have spent some time with the characters on the station instead of just saying "THE EARTH IS RADIOACTIVE I'M IN JAIL THIS IS MY YOUNG LOOKING MOTHER NOW I'M GOING TO EARTH NOW I'M ON EARTH." And I kept laughing at "the girl who hid under the floor!" And why is everyone American? It's the future and all the countries have come together on this one station (or something) and...they all have American accents? Why not let Desmond be Scottish, brother?

But I'll watch episode two to discuss it with Cassie!

I thought they looked awfully tan and fit for people living in a rickety space ship for a hundred years. All athletic and toned and ready for long hikes. I just wonder at the wisdom of sending a whole bunch of idiots already pissed off and proven unreliable, down basically unsupervised in order to save the whole human race. Did we not see a basic flaw in that plan?
Probably gonna pass on this one, it seems stupid.

This could be my new hate watch show. I never saw the fun in that until I watched the first few episodes of Revolution. I don't know if The 100 will be as bad as Revolution, though. It already has a more believable premise and better acting... lol

I don't get "hate-watching" shows. People must have a lot of free time to be able to do that.

Although I guess I hate-watch Big Brother. If the season sucks I still watch it anyway.

I have a lot of free time in the evening, and there's nothing else on. I can only hate watch a truly bad show. Revolution was comically bad, so it was fun. I quit watching it when it went on hiatus. It's no fun watching Big Brother, not even to hate watch.
