The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The first one didn't leave much of an impression on me and this one...well, there's a lot of stuff happening at least. It looks like it's on a bigger scale than the first? The action looks a bit videogamey. Harry has funny hair at least.

I'm getting kind of tired of the Spider-Man film franchise at this point, but will still watch it regardless.

The effects do look rubbish compared to most modern superhero movies (and just movies), but they've got til May to finish them off. Some of The Hobbit 2's effects looked ropey in its first trailer too.

It might be enjoyable enough, but I'm not going to be itching to watch it in the cinema. The angst and martyrdom don't really appeal to me that much nowadays.

So there's a four minute "sizzle" for this movie, whatever the fuck a "sizzle" is.

It's certainly better than the first trailer, but Electro's motivaton is that Spider-Man doesn't remember his name? Like Homer in Who Shot Mister Burns?

And Harry's emo hair is horrible.

Hey remember this movie? I finally watched it. Stuff happened in it. Harry had emo hair. There was an evil Nazi doctor(?) working at an Arkham rip-off place. Electro was cringey but the Rhino was far worse. Like, he was really bad. Individual scenes were enjoyable but what did it all add up to? I don't know. It just felt like stuff happening because it's the kind of stuff that should happen in a movie rather than actually happening naturally? Gwen dies (HUGE SPOILER LOL) just because she dies in the comic. But then they don't even end the movie there and Peter's back to fighting the fucking terrible Rhino at the end. They even put the final shot of the movie in the trailer (you can see it in the still image in the first post in the thread.) Aunt May did nothing. There wasn't any Peter as a photographer stuff even though that stuff's quite fun. There was a subplot where Peter kind of missed his dad I guess but then he found a tape recording of his dad saying something I thought we already knew from the previous movie then he didn't miss his dad anymore I guess. I thought Norman Osbourne was a guy in a hat in the previous movie but there was another mysterious guy in a hat here and I don't know who he was? Pete and Harry were BEST FRIENDS even though they hadn't seen each other for ten years and only had one scene together before Harry turned evil. I don't know. I've typed more than I thought I would. It's probably best not to think about things and just enjoy the swinging about on webs stuff.

Why does the woman with the spider kid at the end thing it's a good idea to stand behind a flimsy metal barricade thing and watch while a giant rhino robot is shooting machine guns?

I bought this when it came out on bluray, still have not got round to watching it yet, its not so much "must see" as "will watch eventually"

I'm so bored that I listened to this.

I confess...I have become a Marvel movie maniac. Batman, The Avengers, Ironman...I watched Spider Man 2 a couple of nights ago. There aren't enough of those movies for me. I lurve them. I watched The Equalizer (Denzel Washington) last night. It was pretty damn good for some action/adventure (blah, blah, I don't care what the critics say). I also enjoyed both of the Sherlock Holmes movies with my baby, Robert Downey, Jr.

I watched Locke (I think that was the name) and Boyhood recently too. Both were pretty damn boring as far as I'm concerned (especially Locke...my God, I kept wishing he'd get in a car crash or something). I'll take a Spidey Man movie over either of those any time. I plan on watching something on my Kindle tonight...not sure what yet.

The only thing I liked in this film was Andrew Garfield (his lines were awful, but he's so charming you can't take it out on him). Electro's motivation was "durr durr durr Spider-Man forgot my name", Rhino was the worst example of acting in a big budget movie I can ever recall, and arguably the biggest selling point, the special effects, looked like they were from a previous generation video game.
