The Bird Blog

Mirah

I love you
No one should ever read this thread ever!
In fact, It should have gone into the badlands.

Bird Blog

Today a Red Headed Woodpecker sat on the fence looking at the bird feeder.
Hoping to the other side, and then diving towards the bird feeder, realized it could not fit its beak into the tiny holes.
The Red Headed Woodpecker flew away.

I imagine he got word somehow that there was a good mix just a block down, he flew all the way over here and nothing, he could not eat it.
Dammit, I didn't know I was discriminating.

We have now placed 4 suet blocks back on the fence.

Some of the seed is in the feeder, some is on the ground, some birds prefer both ways of eating.
Also, the birds fucking love the garbage lid that we turned into a bird bath.

The birds are all over, hopping around.
Well at least a few are.
And one is hanging out by the bird bath.
The fence blocks my view to the birds on the other side.

I must get back to work now.

PS the crows are still eating the coffee beans. (but this is not the crow thread)

The other day a young pigeon flew into the patio doors. It looked hurt, but then a neighbour's cat ran up to attack it and it flew away okay. But there's still feathers everywhere.

I have had bird experiences this week but there are too many to report on!
I fail at bird blogging.
They are eating stuff and stuff and flying around and pooping.
That is what I would say.

Dear Bird Blog,

This weekend, this happened.

P.S. After trying to upload this picture with my new device I realized the picture is fucking sideways. I jumped off the mountain after this. Have a nice day. ~Mirah
P.S.S. After posting this I saw no image and jumped off the mountain again, but I stopped in chat first to ask CaptainWacky how to post images at TK. He said I did it right and I forgot, I am at work so I have images turned off.
There are several incriminating things about myself in this post so I might have to jump off the mountain a 3rd time.

Dear Duck Diary,
Today I passed an amazing amount of ducks on 42nd street, otherwise known as "The 42nd Street Ducks"

It was absolutely amazing! It was as if they were all in line, like a food line, or a cult, I am not sure.

If I were not running late for work I would have circled back around, but then where would I have parked? There is no where, and if I pulled onto 42nd street then I would have run over all of the ducks.

Deer Bird Blog,
See what I did there?
Sorry
anyway
I noticed lately that the crows park themselves on the suet trying to get thier beaks and their feet into the tiny baskets and they flap thier wings and cannot reach the food.

Today I placed one low to the ground.

and it worked!

a crow was just standing there, pecking at it.

Next I will capture him!

just kidding.

Maybe it was a female crow.
