Shaw Brothers Films to Return to the Big Screen First Chinese Language remakes of Iconic Martial-Arts Films

"Hong Kong, 3 November 2006 - Celestial Pictures will initiate film projects on the remakes of the Shaw Brothers' iconic classics, Five Deadly Venoms and Flying Guillotine. These will be the first and long-awaited Chinese language remakes of the legendary Shaw Brothers films. Celestial Pictures will also distribute these two films worldwide.
Action-thriller director Kirk Wong (The Big Hit, Crime Story) will helm as director and write the screenplay of Five Deadly Venoms, the movie that inspired Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Vol.1 and Vol.2. Five Deadly Venoms sees the return of the poison clan that took martial-arts fans by storm. In this remake, set in contemporary times, the beautiful but lethal Spider Girl has joined the all-male clan replacing one of the original male characters.
