JFK: Reloaded is a ballistics simulation of the Kennedy Assassination.
More info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JFK_Reloaded
I thought in my infinite non-PC wisdom that it might be interesting to see who can get the closest to the Warren Commision report of the shooting.
First of all you will need the game:
http://www.demonoid.com/files/details/234705/8851805/
It's only 20mb so it's not great mission to download the thing.
Next you will need some idea of what you're meant to be aiming for (pun intended)
You will need to take a screenshot of your final score and the data from the run. It all becomes much more clear once you actually have a go at it.
The winner will get something or another. Perhaps a custom badge under their name or something along those lines. Haven't thought too much about it, but yeah..
Bad taste all the way!

Shot Name: "The First Missed Shot"
Zapruder Film Frame: #157
Time Score: In order to receive the maximum 25 points, this first shot must be fired off ~28.15 seconds from the start of the run. By best estimates, the ballistic model for this shot allows for a certain amount of "fudge factor" that by best estimates is ±1.25 seconds, but exceeding either side of the target time point will result in points being deducted the earlier or later the shot is fired.
Target Score: Believe it or not, the target for this shot is simply the ground! When you fire this shot, be sure to target either the road or some adjacent scenery so as to not hit anything at all in the motorcade. Any impact with the motorcade will reduce this particular score to zero.
Accuracy Bonus: Logically, ironically or disappointingly, there is no Accuracy Bonus for this particular shot. Traffic's argument is that since this bullet has never been found, nor was its actual ricochet point determined by the Warren Commission other than the probability that it was a tree in front of the Depository, there's no way to rationally or logically determine the accuracy of the shot.
Side Note: Those still using release 1.01 of JFK Reloaded should be aware that the timing models for this shot were adjusted in release 1.03 to correct a reported model data error. While it is uncertain what effect this error had on the final results, it is advised that players upgrade to the latest version to account for any bug fixes that may affect and improve game play.
Target Score: There are 7 targets for this shot, of which only 6 are used in evaluating scores:
- Shot Name: "The Single Bullet" or "The Magic Bullet"
- Zapruder Film Frame: #223 and #224
- Time Score: This shot should be fired ~3.5 seconds after the first. The acceptable deviation appears to be ±0.25 seconds, and exceeding either side of the target time point will result in points being deducted the earlier or later the shot is fired. When you watch the default replay from Zapruder's location, the shot should have been fired just as the Limousine is about to reappear from behind the road sign.
- Target 1:The President's upper back, just before the bottom of the neck, to the left of his right shoulder blade, and just to the right of the spinal column.
- Target 2:Exited The President's chest through the thorax.
- Target 3:Hit the Governor's upper right back, just above the right armpit.
- Target 4:Exited the Governor's chest just above his right pectoral nipple.
- Target 5:Hit the Governor's right wrist.
Each of these six targets receives a flat score of 25 points. You either hit it or you don't.
- Target 6:Exited the Governor's right wrist.
This seventh, last target does not affect the score, although it appears possible that the bullet could be deflected enough by the Governor's wrist to have missed his thigh, probably striking the seat. Traffic's reasoning for this has never been explained as of the time of this writing.
- Target 7:Entered and imbeds in the Governor's left thigh.
- Accuracy Bonus: Each target has a maximum bonus score of 25 points. The further off the target point, the less the bonus.
- Side Note:The timing for the second and third shots fired appears to be based on the amount of time elapsed from the first shot, and not from the start of the run. This should be kept in mind when timing both of these shots, as using the run start as your reference for either will result in a loss of points.
- Hint: Dale Myers' Secrets of a Homicidewebsite has a series of detailed diagrams that explain just where the second "Magic" bullet entered and exited the President and the Governor. These images can be used as a reliable, accurate targeting guide.
Shot Name: "The Fatal Shot", "The Head Shot" or "The One From The 'Grassy Knoll'"
Zapruder Film Frame: #313
Time Score: This shot should be fired ~5.0 seconds after the second shot. The acceptable deviation appears to be ±0.25 seconds, and exceeding either side of the target time point will result in points being deducted the earlier or later the shot is fired. When you watch the default replay from Zapruder's location, this shot should be fired just as the President's limousine slows down and the roof bar between the Governor's seats and the front seats are in a completely straight line with Zapruder's POV.
- Target Score: There are 3 targets for this shot, all are used in evaluating scores:
- Target 1:The base of the President's head.
- Target 2:Exited the front of the President's head.
- Note that these two targets produce the "explosive cloud of red debris" that is inarguably the most gruesome result of the assassination
- Target 3:The bullet becomes lodged in the limousine.
Accuracy Bonus: Each target has a maximum bonus score of 25 points. The further off the target point, the less the bonus. The exception to this is the final resting spot of the third bullet, which receives a flat score of 25 points. It either imbeds or it doesn't.
Side Note:If you are running the simulation in a serious attempt to duplicate Oswald's results, never fire off more than three shots. Each additional shot deducts 100 points from your final score.
You will need to take a screenshot of your final score and the data from the run. It all becomes much more clear once you actually have a go at it.
The winner will get something or another. Perhaps a custom badge under their name or something along those lines. Haven't thought too much about it, but yeah..
