The Mac Pro

The "suggested" configuration:

Two 2.66GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon "Woodcrest" processors
4MB shared L2 cache per processor
1.33GHz dual independent frontside buses
1GB memory (667MHz DDR2 fully-buffered DIMM ECC)
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT graphics with 256MB memory
250GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s 7200-rpm hard drive
16x double-layer SuperDrive (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)

$2,499.00

Okay, I'll say this... it's too expensive. There should be a $1,999.00 option, but this is the debut, they'll bring the price down in four to five months. For what you get, you could spend $1,000 less and get comparable hardware.

But then again, it does look great. :guffaw: I guess you could argue that they've got their efficient architecture and everything is designed to work seemlessly and whatnot, but unfortunately, the Mac Pro, as cool as it is to a Mac head like me, is just not a practical purchase.

I still want one.

I'm drooling as I'm typing, Ishy.

But I have my heart set on saving up for a MacBook Pro.

Someday...someday... :D

That is HOT ,nobody sells mac where I live. I would like to run one and check it out before I buy one.

I just want to dual boot Mac OS X and WindowsXP on that shit. Just to see how it handles windows. I bet it destroys it.

LOL.

When you're already spending $17,000 what's another grand on software?

With a powerhouse like that you may want a GOOD HDDV camera in the $2,000-$20,000 range so you can use it for what is made for.

So if we're wishing, why not wish big?

So we're at around $37,500.00 plus tax. What else? 60GB iPod Video, just to be trendy.

$37,800.00
