The New Clay...

Friday

Bazinga!
I've fallen in love with one of the American Idol contestants.

No, it's not Ace. It's....Taylor Hicks!

I love love love his voice, and he is so refreshingly different, humble, and down to earth he has captured my heart. His bluesy sound and Joe Cocker moves sets him apart from the rest of the contestants.

Here's a webpage I found where you can legally download 3 songs off his independent album.

Read, download, and listen.... :D

I like him too, though my mother claims he's got "something in his closet."

She's just mad because she wants a woman to win this year again. :D

He looks like a John Mayer wannabe.

Does he sound like a John Mayer wannabe?
Nope. Taylor has much more texture to his voice. John Mayer sounds downright bland compared to him.

Menty and Peter... :P ;)

Click on the link I posted. Listen to his music. You'll see. :)

Ugh, it's Godawful pablum! If you think that guy's better than John Mayer, you're most likely a Clay Aiken fan!

BB, pablum is bland baby cereal.

Everybody else can kiss my Clay and Taylor lovin' ass! You wouldn't know good music if it gave you a blow job... :P ;)

Well, I think 1/2 of that group, if not all just might do that to you. :D

Honestly though, I didn't like Clay very much during the show, but I do like Taylor. he's old, yes, but he has style and stage presence.

"He's old"? That's the other reason I hate American Idol. It perptuates the idea that great singers can only become famous if they're young and/or sex objects. Why should older people be excluded if they're just as talented?

American Idol is for hommaseckshuls and wimmen!
Not THIS hommaseckshul. ;)

I love Leonard Cohen! :D

Bird On A Wire
by: Leonard Cohen

Bird on a Wire
Like a bird on a wire,
like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free.
Like a worm on a hook,
like a knight from some old fashioned book
I have saved all my ribbons for thee.
If I, if I have been unkind,
I hope that you can just let it go by.
If I, if I have been untrue
I hope you know it was never to you.

Like a baby, stillborn,
like a beast with his horn
I have torn everyone who reached out for me.
But I swear by this song,
and by all that I have done wrong
I will make it all up to thee.
I saw a young man leaning on his wooden crutch,
he said to me, "You must not ask for so much."
And a pretty woman leaning in her darkened door,
she cried to me, "Hey, why not ask for more?"

Oh like a bird on a wire,
like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free.
